Empowering Education Through Cross-Industry Innovation at International Conference on Engineering Education Development (ICDEE)

Honored to present at the International Conference on Engineering Education Development (ICDEE) at Tianjin University, celebrating its 130th Anniversary, where I shared how cross‑industry innovation—combining procedural workflows, real‑time engines, and AI—can empower educators to create scalable, immersive, and culturally relevant learning experiences, drawing on real‑world case studies from universities and industry collaborations across Asia and beyond.

International Conference on Engineering Education Development (ICDEE)

It was a privilege to present at the International Conference on Engineering Education Development (ICDEE) under the theme “Empowering Education Through Cross‑Industry Innovation,” hosted by Tianjin University (TJU) in celebration of its 130th Anniversary

The session focused on how emerging technologies and industry practices can be meaningfully integrated into education to prepare students for an increasingly complex and digital future.

procedural generation, real‑time engines, and AI technologies are transforming scalable production workflows

During the presentation, I shared how procedural generation, real‑time engines, and AI technologies are transforming scalable production workflows and enabling educators to deliver immersive, localized, and culturally rich learning experiences.

Drawing on over 25 years of experience in proceduralism and creative technology, I highlighted practical case studies from across Asia.

leverage tools such as Unreal Engine, Houdini, and generative AI

Such as Unreal Engine–driven architectural visualization for UAP NATCON49 in the Philippines, procedural worldbuilding with PCG for Korea University’s 100X Conference, bespoke Unreal Engine and Houdini training for the University of Hong Kong, and regional summits that delivered customized Unreal Engine content for educators across the Asia‑Pacific region.

These examples illustrated how educators can leverage tools such as Unreal Engine, Houdini, and generative AI to build scalable, future‑ready curricula while maintaining strong local and cultural relevance.

Engineering Creates the World, Education Leads the Future

The conference theme, “Engineering Creates the World, Education Leads the Future,” resonated deeply throughout the event, reflecting the shared commitment to global collaboration and innovation.

With participation from educators and institutions across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, ICDEE showcased how cross‑industry knowledge exchange is reshaping the future of engineering and creative education.
