We are fortunate to have witnessed Douglas's fantastic performances on several occasions. Firstly, as a trainer and workshop facilitator at the Radiance60 Unreal Engine training in Singapore. Second, as a distinguished resource speaker on several occasions at Our Lady of Fatima University, here in the Philippines. And finally, as a plenary speaker at the Sparks International Conference hosted by multiple universities and organizations in the Philippines. Douglas Leong has a true Mastery of his Art. In addition to off-the-charts technical skills, he has the unique ability to transform his vision into a reality – a “virtual” reality which is making physical reality palish in comparison. I have been at the forefront of research on cyberbehavior (human behavior in computerized spaces) since more than 15 years, and I have witnessed the evolution of virtual and augmented environments not just from a user perspective, but from the point of view of a researcher. Only a few times in my life have I been impressed by technical developments. The exposition to Douglas Leong’s work counts amongst those times.

I got to witness Douglas speak at the 100x Conference in Seoul, Korea where he stole the show with his energetic approach to how he uses software like Houdini and Unreal Engine to create awesome worlds.

Douglas is a great artist and teacher. He has great overall knowledge in Houdini and is great a communicating the fundamentals of proceduralism and how to think. Learning Houdini with Douglas has been incredibly helpful, and really got me thinking about the process of modeling and how to approach problems.
